Hello Future Art History Student,

We are going to have a blast in Art History in the fall. This letter is a way for me to introduce myself, the course, and expectations before you get here in August.

So here are just a few things.

1. APAH - You will need some supplies for class -
          - 500 index cards (the 4x 6 size work best - if you cant get them just let me know and I can find you the
            small ones)
         - scissors and tape to make your flash cards
         - 2 composition notebooks or spirals (one for each semester)

2. You should try to read the Annotated Mona Lisa book. Either edition is fine. You can get a copy at the local book store, the local library, or even on the DHS Art History website.

3. Speaking of the website - try to spend some time this summer looking at it and becoming familiar with some of the terms, time periods, and places we will study.

4. Try to look at some art or architecture this summer - we have great museums near us in both Washington, D.C and Baltimore.

5. Do you have some questions? Feel free to email me [email protected]

See you in the fall,
Ms. H
